Tex Mex, ice cream (especially Bruster's Graham Central Station), dark chocolate (the darker the better!)

What is your favorite time of year?

I like the fall because it's not too hot to wear a cute scarf, jacket or sweater but also not so cold that you can't go outside for a nice walk or run if you want to. 

 

What do you enjoy most about working at the Bald Ridge Lodge?

The staff are wonderful and caring people and the boys are lots of fun. 

What is the biggest lesson you have learned throughout your time as a staff member at the Bald Ridge Lodge?

I've been reminded over and over that everyone is happy to contribute their time, talents and treasure to a good cause, and Bald Ridge Lodge has a wonderful mission that everyone can support.

I love trying all kinds of food and I'm always looking to try something new. My least favorite food is shrimp!

The holiday season starting with Thanksgiving and going through the New Year.

The laughs! 

What is the biggest lesson you have learned throughout your time as a staff member at the Bald Ridge Lodge?

I came to the Lodge with the intention of teaching/guiding the residents, but I quickly learned they have just as much to teach ME about life, myself, and the things we take for granted.

What I enjoy most about working here is getting to know and learn every resident day in and day out.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned throughout your time as a staff member at the Bald Ridge Lodge?

The biggest lesson I have learn is to not take things personal and not to bring bad energy in or out of the lodge. Still a working process.

What do you enjoy most about working at the Bald Ridge Lodge?

What I love most about working at the lodge is the ability to be that one person that a boy has that they feel believes in them, which can make all the difference.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned throughout your time as a staff member at the Bald Ridge Lodge?

A lesson I am reminded of right from Leadership Forsyth. Choose your attitude and the boys can learn too, there are so many things neither staff nor the boys can change but our attitude and how we express ourselves is always under our control.

I really enjoy seeing the boys finding new interest that they really enjoy.

Working at the lodge has helped me see that every resident had ups and downs, but they all have dreams, and taking an interest in their dreams really makes a difference in their attitude.

My favorite time of the year is Easter, because of what the holiday represents.

The one thing I enjoy most working at BRL is that it does not feel like work.  I enjoy my job and it feels natural.

I learned to do more listening than responding.

There is good in everyone; always be kind and focus on their goodness.

Boys, who at first appear to be hard-hearted and rebellious, can open up, straighten up, and become kind, decent young men.

What do you enjoy most about working at the Bald Ridge Lodge?

As Development Manager, I enjoy building strong relationships between the external community and the Lodge in order to make a difference in the lives of the boys.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned throughout your time as a staff member at the Bald Ridge Lodge?

 Interacting with the boys has taught me that the best way to help them is to "be the person who you needed when you were younger".

Summertime to hang out with the Lodge boys.

Working with youth is my passion.

Rules sometimes require patience. There are a lot of rules from both the Lodge and State for keeping kids safe.
