Independent Living Program Makes an Impact After Only Six Months

In fall 2023, our Independent Living Program (ILP) launched, thanks to your support. Over the past 6 months, two young men have been prepared for self-sufficiency, supported by affordable housing and intensive case management from our Life Coach. One ILP resident found fulfilling employment through our community connections. Remarking on the positive work environment, he said, “I’ve never worked at a place where I got along with and really like ALL the people I work with. They are really the best!”.  Another highlight is the sense of belonging they feel when returning to the Lodge for support. Not only are they like “rock stars” to the younger residents still living in the Group Home, but they also have many adults who are happy to see them and ready to support them through any circumstances they might be facing.

The ILP isn't just changing lives; it's saving them. Without this vital program, many former foster youth find themselves facing daunting challenges, from homelessness to incarceration. But with your continued support, we're rewriting that narrative, offering a lifeline to those who need it most.
